New Exhibition Celebrates the Genius of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Design

Imagine if there were more Frank Lloyd Wright-designed buildings in Western Pennsylvania. A new exhibition, “Frank Lloyd Wright’s Southwestern Pennsylvania,” at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg, Pa., will help you do just that starting Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, through Jan. 14, 2024. Co-organized with Fallingwater staff, this innovative exhibition presents video animations and 3D models of never-built residential, commercial and civic projects that Wright designed for Southwestern Pennsylvania in the 1940s and 1950s.

“This exhibition celebrates the genius of Wright’s design in a new and approachable way, but it also asks visitors to question how these projects might have changed the Pittsburgh region as we know it, for better or for worse,” says Fallingwater Director and Western Pennsylvania Conservancy Vice President Justin Gunther.

Also, an exhibition focusing on the unbuilt works Wright designed specifically for the Fallingwater estate will be on view in our Speyer Gallery from Oct. 15 through the end of Dec. 2023.

Both exhibitions are free to the public, but visitors will need to purchase a Fallingwater tour ticket or grounds pass to enjoy the experience in the Speyer Gallery.
