Protect Wild Places & Green Spaces: Give Back to Nature This December

Nature provides not only beautiful scenery but the clean air you breathe, the water you drink, the trails you walk and the rivers you fish! It provides the open spaces where your children and grandchildren play.

When you protect local nature, you ensure that future generations will have vibrant neighborhoods, a healthy environment and a connection to the natural world. You’ll help wild places and green spaces thrive!

For more than 90 years, people like you have empowered our work to protect your land, water and wildlife while strengthening your communities. Supporters have helped us establish 11 state parks, protect more than 290,000 acres of land, restore more than 3,000 miles of rivers and streams and plant more than 262,800 trees! We can’t do it without you.

Will you make a gift of $40, $60 or even $100 to support nature and green spaces? When you donate, you become a WPC member. Membership includes benefits such as discounted or complimentary tickets to Fallingwater, invitations to WPC members-only events and much more!

If you believe in this mission—and want to protect nature for future generations—please make a one-time or monthly donation, renew your membership or give a gift membership. Donate through December 31 to protect local wild places and greenspaces. Together, we’ll ensure that this work will benefit current and future generations.

Own Land Near Water? Apply for Free Native Trees

Landowners, do you have open or partially open land near a stream? You can apply through June 2027 to have free native riparian trees planted! WPC’s Riparian Restoration Tree Planting Initiative provides trees at no cost as part of Pennsylvania’s statewide water quality improvement goals.

Funding by the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources covers the cost of native trees and shrubs, tree protection materials and labor to plant the trees.

Download Winter Images

Fallingwater is the finest example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s organic architecture philosophy, where nature, landscape and architecture are united in harmony. A snow-covered landscape creates a peaceful backdrop for the house in winter, when Bear Run sometimes freezes into an icy curtain as it cascades over the waterfall.

Tour the house on December weekends, or take a self-guided Winter Walk on the grounds, January 2 through March 13 except Wednesdays.
