Fallingwater Now Open for 60th Tour Season!
|
|
|
Frank Lloyd Wright’s philosophy of organic architecture is best exemplified in Fallingwater, which reopened to the public on March 11 for the 60th tour season. There are many ways to experience this iconic architecture that seamlessly marries visionary design and the natural landscape.
Through a variety of tours, including the Guided Architectural Tour or In-Depth Tour, our knowledgeable educators interpret Fallingwater, a site on the UNESCO World Heritage List, by sharing how the Kaufmann family lived, providing insights into Wright’s design and offering historical context. These house tours provide both interior spaces and full grounds access.
New this season, we’ve added an exterior-only, educator-led tour experience, Guided Grounds Walking Tour, which provides interpretation into the Bear Run landscape that inspired Fallingwater’s design. Beginning in May, we’ll offer our Focus Tour that provides the unique opportunity of extraordinary access to experience Wright’s masterpiece.
After your tour, enjoy a delicious lunch from the Fallingwater Café, view the current exhibition or buy a special gift in the Museum Store. If you aren’t able to visit this season, check out our many virtual options, including “A Closer Look” livestreams and other learning experiences. |

Application deadlines are fast approaching for our paid summer internships at Fallingwater. We welcome college and grad students from across the country to complete hands-on projects relevant to their field of study. We have 2023 opportunities in multimedia, collections, landscape and education. Interns can stay on campus and personally experience Fallingwater as they learn new skills. And job openings are available, too. |

In addition to tours, Fallingwater is a place where artists, scholars, designers and learners from teens to adults can come to find inspiration and a connection to nature. Formally established in 2015, the Fallingwater Institute provides creative collaboration, skill building and inspired thinking through immersive classes, workshops and residencies. |

Our Collection Has Fascinating Pieces |
Edgar Kaufmann jr. celebrated the work of Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) by showcasing his glassware throughout Fallingwater. On your next visit, one of the first places to see Aalto’s 20th-century crystal is in the living room on the built-in desktop near the hatch. Listen to Fallingwater Registrar Rebecca Hagan talk about this piece in our recent webinar on glass. |
