Celebrate and Experience the Genius of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Design This Fall |
If you, your family or friends plan on visiting the Laurel Highlands this fall, now is the time to purchase your Fallingwater tickets!
As you walk the beautiful grounds under a tree canopy peppered in various shades of red, yellow and orange, you’ll be reminded of Fallingwater’s intimate relationship with the mountain landscape. Like no other time of year, the colors, seasonal smells of the forest and natural light heighten the senses and elevate the experience of Fallingwater. Our tours will also help you understand Wright’s philosophy of organic architecture as you explore the house from both the interior spaces and outdoor cantilevered terraces.
Our knowledgeable educators encourage you to make observations and see firsthand the important details of Wright’s design as well as provide fascinating insights about the exceptional collection of fine and decorative art collected by the Kaufmanns. Inside the living room, one of modern architecture’s most iconic spaces, you will experience Wright’s pioneering open plan, view the unique glass hatch that opens the room to the rushing stream below and learn why the boulder of the fireplace was such an important part of the Kaufmanns’ memories.
Fallingwater is on the UNESCO World Heritage List for a reason, as it is one of the most emblematic and recognizable architectural landmarks of the 20th century. See it, or encourage someone else to, in all seasons—especially this fall! |

It’s Gnome Time at Fallingwater |
School is back in session, so it’s the perfect time for students who are interested in art, architecture, construction, engineering and/or design to sign up for our Gnome House Design Challenge. Available to students aged eight to 13, the challenge invites opportunities for young learners to see how professional architects design for clients. Using gnomes as their clients, participants sharpen their imagination, critical thinking and comprehension skills while considering their clients’ needs for an ideal home based on Frank Lloyd Wright’s organic architecture principles. Students can also showcase their designs at Fallingwater next May during our 2025 Gnome House Symposium! |
